Squid Game: The Challenge Season 2 is set to premiere on November 4, 2025, exclusively on Netflix, bringing back the intense reality competition format with 456 contestants competing for a USD 4.56 million prize.
The new season will maintain the spirit of the original scripted hit while introducing fresh twists. A teaser released on July 10, 2025 highlighted Gong-gi, a game where players toss and catch small stones, signaling the mix of physical and strategic challenges to come. Expect high-stakes eliminations, group dynamics, and quieter character-driven moments.
Netflix’s VP of nonfiction, Brandon Riegg, emphasized the show’s scale: “We’re so excited to continue the franchise of Squid Game with our team in Korea, and producers at Studio Lambert and The Garden for this epic competition series.” The Season 2 set in London features six elaborate stages, dorm-style living for contestants, and cinematic visuals. Participants will wear the iconic green tracksuits, sleep in bunk beds, and face rounds that test both strategy and endurance.
Casting requires applicants to be 21 or older. While the 456-player cast remains undisclosed, Season 3 has already been greenlit, and casting portals are open for future editions.
The first season of The Challenge debuted on November 22, 2023, becoming Netflix’s most-watched unscripted series with 200 million viewing hours in its first month, topping the Global Top 10. Season 1 winner Mai Whelan returned to a calmer life with her family after her victory.
Season 2 promises to deliver even bigger thrills, strategic gameplay, and emotional drama for fans worldwide.
