The controversy around South Korean actress Song Ha-Yoon has taken a fresh turn. The woman who accused her of school bullying has now arrived in South Korea to meet investigators, more than a year after the claims first became public in a JTBC report. With her arrival and new evidence in hand, the case is once again moving forward after months of stalled progress.

The accuser, identified only as “A,” has been vocal about her side of the story. In her fourth public statement, released on August 25, she said she had originally hoped to resolve the issue outside of court. According to her, she suggested to Song Ha-Yoon’s law firm that both sides stop legal action and handle the matter with dignity. She described this as her last attempt to reach a respectful settlement.

But another layer of conflict has come from the issue of travel expenses. Song Ha-Yoon’s agency had offered financial help to cover “A’s” return to Korea. However, the accuser rejected the offer, saying it was too limited and far from the full amount. She explained that she had paid for her own airfare, accommodation, and transport. In her words, even with the support offered by Song’s side, she still had to pay at least six times more out of her own pocket. She made it clear that she would cover all her current expenses herself and that future costs would be resolved through legal channels.

The allegations themselves stretch back twenty years. “A” claims that Song Ha-Yoon bullied her in 2004 while they were both students at Banpo High School. After the first JTBC report came out, other former classmates also spoke up, sharing stories that fueled speculation and led to rumors that Song had to transfer schools because of the incidents.

With the accuser now present in Korea and prepared to submit email records involving Song’s agency, the investigation is expected to gather pace. The case continues to raise questions about accountability, memory, and the long shadow of school bullying scandals in the South Korean entertainment industry.
