Zuza Beine, the popular 14-year-old social media star, has died after living 11 years with acute myeloid leukaemia. Zuza shared her journey with cancer on Instagram and TikTok, gaining 4.4 million followers who loved her “day in my life” and vlog videos. She also used her platform to raise awareness about what it’s like to live with childhood cancer.
Her family announced her passing on Tuesday, sharing a heartbreaking statement. They wrote that Zuza “lived more fully and gratefully than most” despite her illness, and that her life “changed us forever.” They said her last video, which showed what she was grateful for, was a “testament to a life filled with both beauty and suffering.”
The family asked that donations be made to support her recently deceased uncle’s wife and children instead of sending flowers. The statement was shared with a photo of Zuza smiling in front of a sunset.
Fans have poured in tributes online. One wrote, “You were such a light to so many. Love you forever.” Another said, “Fly high Zuza, you were always such a beautiful and kind presence. You will be dearly missed.” Many echoed that her joy and positivity left a lasting impact, even in her short life.
