Shetland season 10: Release date, cast, plot and more!

The popular BBC crime drama Shetland is coming back soon for its tenth season. Fans can get ready for another gripping story that dives deep into small-town secrets and human emotions.

Ashley Jensen, who plays Detective Inspector Ruth Calder, shared that this new season feels a bit more personal. Instead of showing wide open landscapes like last time, the story is set in a close-knit little village called Lunniswick. It’s a place where everyone knows everyone, and gossip travels faster than the wind.

Things take a dark turn when one of the villagers is found murdered. The series opens with the death of an older woman, and the way she’s found is both strange and chilling. Her body is discovered outside her home, left out in the harsh weather for several days. That sets off a wave of fear and suspicion because, in a small town like this, everyone has something to hide, and everyone could be a suspect.

Ashley Jensen said this season is her favourite one yet, calling it the best story she’s worked on so far. She loves how detailed it is and how every local character becomes part of the mystery in some way.

So when can you watch it? And who else will appear alongside Jensen? All of that will be revealed soon, but one thing’s for sure, Shetland season 10 promises plenty of tension, secrets, and unexpected twists.
