After four seasons of honing her cooking skills from the comfort of her own kitchen in the HBO Max series “Selena + Chef,” Selena Gomez is embarking on a new culinary adventure in her latest show, “Selena + Restaurant.” Departing from the confines of her home, Gomez will join professional chefs in their own environments to learn and cook alongside them, offering viewers a fresh perspective on her culinary journey.
Premiering on May 2nd with two back-to-back episodes on Food Network and available for streaming on HBO Max, “Selena + Restaurant” marks a significant shift for Gomez as she ventures into the bustling world of Los Angeles restaurants. Accompanied by her best friend and co-star Raquelle Stevens, Gomez will collaborate with renowned chefs such as Shirley Chung of Ms Chi, Keith Corbin at Alta, and Stephanie Izard of Girl & the Goat, among others.
What sets “Selena + Restaurant” apart from its predecessor is Gomez’s goal of creating a signature dish worthy of inclusion on the restaurant’s menu. Each episode will showcase Gomez’s culinary journey as she attempts to master the chef’s techniques and craft a dish that reflects her own creative flair. Additionally, the show continues Gomez’s commitment to charitable giving, with each chef selecting a charity to receive a donation from “Selena + Restaurant.”
The premiere episode takes Gomez to Wolfgang Puck’s iconic CUT Steakhouse in Beverly Hills, where she faces the challenge of mastering one of Puck’s classic dishes before putting her own spin on a spicy seafood creation. Reflecting on her transition from virtual cooking to in-person culinary experiences, Gomez expresses her excitement for the opportunity to learn and grow in a professional kitchen setting.
Betsy Ayala, Chief of Food Network, praises Gomez’s culinary evolution, citing her Emmy-nominated series “Selena + Chef” as evidence of her dedication to expanding her kitchen skills. With “Selena + Restaurant,” Gomez’s culinary education enters a new phase, offering viewers an intimate look at her journey from amateur cook to restaurant collaborator.
Produced by Gomez for July Moon Productions in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television’s The Intellectual Property Corporation (IPC), “Selena + Restaurant” promises to captivate audiences with its blend of celebrity charm, culinary exploration, and philanthropic spirit.
