Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco truly seem to be living out their own romantic comedy in real life. The couple, who began dating publicly in late 2023 and are now engaged, recently shared a sweet and funny moment from their relationship that shows just how real—and relatable—they are.
During a recent appearance on the Nova’s Ricki-Lee, Tim and Joel show, Blanco opened up about what he called the most unexpected argument he’s ever had—with none other than his fiancée, Selena. And the topic? Birds.
While working on music together at home, they had set up a recording studio in the guest bedroom. Everything was going smoothly—until Selena started hearing something odd in the background. She told Benny there was a nest of birds just outside the window, and their constant chirping was being picked up during her recordings. But Benny didn’t believe her at first. Every time he walked into the room, the birds mysteriously went quiet.
“The biggest thing we got in was about birds,” he laughed. “I never heard them, so I thought she was just being dramatic.”
The friendly feud continued until Selena finally captured the bird noises on the microphone during a recording session. Once he heard the chirping himself, Benny had no choice but to admit she was right. “It was so frustrating. But once she caught it on the mic, I finally heard it,” he said.
Instead of letting it blow up into a bigger issue, the couple handled the situation with humor and grace. Benny even said that this silly bird-related disagreement actually showed how well they communicate and resolve conflicts together. “We’re really meant for each other,” he shared sincerely.
