The third season of The Wheel of Time has just wrapped up on Prime Video, but fans are already left wondering what’s next for the fantasy series. While Amazon has not yet officially confirmed a renewal for season 4, the season finale left things wide open, giving hope that the story could continue. The ending doesn’t tie everything up, leaving plenty of room for more episodes to explore.
Rosamund Pike, who plays the powerful Moiraine Damodred, has helped build a loyal fanbase for the show since it first premiered. Now, viewers are eager to find out if Amazon will give the green light to more episodes to continue this epic journey.
Showrunner Rafe Judkins recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and shared that, like the fans, he’s also waiting for the official word from Amazon. He said, “That’s the same thing that I’ve been sort of asking Amazon—what is the end game for the show? I really want to deliver this full series, so how do we best do that?”
Judkins also touched on why Amazon was chosen as the platform for the series in the first place. He mentioned that when they were deciding which company to go with, Amazon stood out because they seemed committed to supporting long-term storytelling. “Amazon felt like a place where they do want to invest in shows for the long term,” he explained. That long-term vision is something that’s important to both the show’s creators and its fans, who want to see the story unfold over multiple seasons.
Judkins believes the show has been improving with each season and feels it could continue on that upward trajectory. He also emphasized that completing the story is crucial for TV as a medium, saying it’s something television does best—starting a story and seeing it through to its end. That sentiment is shared by the fans, who are eager to see the journey continue.
Josha Stradowski, who plays Rand al’Thor, is also feeling optimistic about the future of the series. When speaking to Collider, he expressed confidence that season 4 would be greenlit. “Yeah, we’re confident that a fourth season will be greenlit,” he said.
However, fans might have to be patient. There was nearly a two-year gap between the previous seasons, so if the show gets renewed, new episodes could be released in late 2026 or 2027. While the wait may be long, it looks like there’s a good chance that The Wheel of Time will continue to spin on Prime Video.
