The highly anticipated trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs has faced yet another delay. Originally scheduled for jury selection in the first week of May, the process has now been pushed back by several weeks, with opening statements expected to begin Monday, May 12, at 9:00 AM.

The defense team, led by Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, recently brought a jury consultant on board to analyze potential jurors’ profiles. Both defense and prosecution raised last-minute objections that contributed to the delay. Judge Arun Subramanian confirmed the revised schedule and allowed for possible postponements if any jurors have reservations.

Currently, the jury panel consists of 12 members and six alternates. Prosecutors requested a slight delay on the trial start date, citing the timing issues caused by the postponement.

Combs faces serious federal charges including racketeering, assault, involvement with minors, rape, and transportation for prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all allegations.

Notably, Combs’ ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura is slated to testify against him, accusing him of rape and sexual assault during their decade-long relationship. Three additional alleged victims are also expected to take the stand.

The trial is expected to last several weeks as both sides present their cases.
