Sean “Diddy” Combs has pleaded not guilty to new charges involving sex trafficking and prostitution-related offenses in a federal court in Manhattan. These charges, part of a revised indictment filed on April 4, now bring the total number of counts against Combs to five. The updated indictment includes allegations that Combs recruited and coerced a new victim, referred to as Victim 2, to engage in commercial sex acts through force, fraud, and coercion.
Combs’ legal team has expressed concerns about delays in receiving evidence, particularly the failure to obtain 200,000 emails from a key witness, which could impact the trial’s schedule. Despite these concerns, the trial is still set to proceed on May 5, although the defense may request postponements to further review the evidence.
In addition, Combs’ lawyers have requested that jurors be screened for any biases related to sensitive topics such as drug use, domestic violence, and graphic sexual content. Prosecutors, however, argue that such extensive questioning should be limited to only essential juror qualifications.
At present, Combs remains at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn while awaiting further developments in the case. This new indictment builds on previous charges, including racketeering, that have not been changed in the updated filing. The case continues to draw significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the accusations.
