Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing two new criminal charges just a month before his highly anticipated trial begins. On April 4, federal prosecutors in New York made a new indictment public, adding one count each of sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution. This brings the total number of charges against the rapper to five, including previous counts of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
The indictment specifically revolves around the so-called “freak-offs,” which prosecutors describe as “elaborate and produced sex performances.” The charges allege that Diddy and his associates lured individuals under the guise of romance, only to use “force, threats of force, and coercion” to compel them to participate in the events. Diddy has consistently denied any involvement in these alleged acts.
Diddy has been incarcerated since September 2024 at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center and is awaiting trial, which is set to begin on May 5. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Recently, one of the sexual harassment lawsuits against him was dismissed when the complainant failed to disclose her identity despite legal warnings. His legal team has expressed confidence that more lawsuits will likely be dismissed due to similar issues.
However, the new charges have only intensified the scrutiny surrounding him and further complicated his legal battles. The upcoming trial is expected to bring even more attention to these serious allegations.
