Scarlett Moffatt has won the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special alongside professional dancer Vito Coppola. They performed a Cha Cha to Cher’s DJ Play a Christmas Song, earning a perfect score of 40 from the judges and topping the audience vote.
Before her win, Scarlett shared a heartfelt video on Instagram showing her favourite dance moments from childhood and behind-the-scenes clips from rehearsals. She explained that her past dance experience as a child likely prevents her from appearing on the main Strictly series.
Scarlett said dance was always her safe place, where she felt happiest and could just be herself. While it’s not an official rule, the main show usually doesn’t feature contestants with extensive dance experience to keep the competition fair. Some celebrities with theatre backgrounds, like Lewis Cope and Layton Williams, have competed.
The former Gogglebox star reflected on how special it was to dance on the Christmas Special. She called it a “bucket-list moment” and said she was grateful to share it with her family, friends, Vito, and everyone watching at home.
Scarlett first became famous on Gogglebox and later won I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!.
The main Strictly Come Dancing series will return in 2026, now without longtime hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. Fans will have to wait to see who will take over presenting duties.
The Strictly Christmas Special and past episodes are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
