Sarah Jessica Parker, known and loved for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, is about to be celebrated in a big way. The Emmy and SAG Award-winning actress has been named the 2025 recipient of the Carol Burnett Award, which honors people who have made an outstanding impact on television both on and off screen.
Golden Globes president Helen Hoehne said Parker perfectly represents the spirit of the award. She praised Parker’s influence on television and her passion for storytelling, saying that her work has left a lasting mark on pop culture.
Parker will receive the award during a new annual special called Golden Eve, which will celebrate winners of both the Carol Burnett Award and the Cecil B. DeMille Award. This year’s DeMille honoree is Helen Mirren. The special will air on January 8 on CBS and will also stream on Paramount.
The main Golden Globes ceremony will take place a few days later, on January 11, with comedian Nikki Glaser returning as host for the second year in a row.
Besides her iconic TV roles, Sarah Jessica Parker has also appeared in several hit films such as Hocus Pocus, Hocus Pocus 2, Failure to Launch, The First Wives Club, Ed Wood, and Mars Attacks!.
The Carol Burnett Award was first introduced in 2019, named after the legendary Carol Burnett herself. Previous winners include Ted Danson, Norman Lear, Ryan Murphy, and Ellen DeGeneres. Parker now joins this list of television greats who have shaped the entertainment industry.
