Fashion lovers, brace yourselves — Sarah Jessica Parker won’t be gracing the Met Gala 2025 red carpet. The And Just Like That star confirmed in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight that she won’t be attending this year’s event due to scheduling conflicts.
“I have to work,” Parker shared candidly. Still, she’s not out of the loop. “There’s gonna be so much to see, and I look forward to seeing what everybody does and how they interpret the theme and the sort of homework they did for the assignment.”
This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” has already sparked major buzz — and while Parker won’t be there in person, she remains deeply invested in how guests honor the curators’ vision. “I care a lot about it and I want to try to really honor the work of the curators and everybody who inspired the moment,” she added.
Over the years, Sarah Jessica Parker has become a Met Gala mainstay, renowned for her daring, thoughtful ensembles that often steal the show. Her absence will definitely be felt — but her love for the event is still very much intact.
Parker also gave a rare glimpse into life at home with her kids — James Wilkie, and twins Marion and Tabitha. Despite her status as a fashion icon, she laughed off the idea that her children seek out her style advice. “They come to me like any 15-year-old, almost 16-year-old would come to a parent… it’s nothing to do with fashion,” she said.
So while SJP won’t be making a grand entrance this year, fans can be sure she’ll be watching from afar — probably in fabulous pajamas, rooting for everyone who’s doing their own homework on the red carpet.
