Samsung appears to be escalating the competition in the thin-bezel race with its upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra, rumoured to feature even slimmer bezels than Apple’s latest iPhone 16 Pro Max. The trend of pushing the limits on bezel size has been an ongoing rivalry between leading smartphone manufacturers, and Samsung seems determined to gain the upper hand in this area.
Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max has been widely praised for its impressively thin bezels, which reportedly feature a reduction of around 30% compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 15 Pro.
Though no precise measurements have been confirmed, hands-on coverage of the device has drawn attention to the new ultra-slim display rails. While Apple’s latest iPhone already boasts some of the slimmest bezels on the market, Samsung is reportedly aiming to surpass that achievement with the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to launch early next year, and reports suggest that its bezels will be trimmed by around 0.2mm compared to previous models. While this reduction may seem minor to the average consumer, it’s a significant step in the bezel race. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to outdo the iPhone 16 Pro Max in terms of bezel thinness, although the margin may be small.
