S Line, a bold and genre-bending South Korean miniseries, is generating major buzz ahead of its official release. With themes that delve into sexual shame, surveillance, and the unintended consequences of tech advancements, the drama has already made waves internationally—especially after receiving recognition at the 2025 Cannes International Series Festival.

Starring Lee Soo Hyuk, Arin (Choi Ye Won of OH MY GIRL), and Lee Da Hee, S Line draws inspiration from the popular webtoon of the same name by artist Kkomabi. The story unfolds in a near-futuristic Korea, where a mysterious red line begins to appear between individuals who have had sexual encounters. These lines are only visible through special glasses, and once discovered by the public, they unravel societal norms and provoke a national crisis around privacy and morality.

Arin takes on the role of Hyun Heup, a woman who has been able to see the red lines since birth. Her unique ability makes her the central figure in unraveling the mystery behind the red connections. She joins forces with detective Han Ji Hyuk, played by Lee Soo Hyuk, to trace the origin of the red line phenomenon and the technology behind the glasses.

Also sharing Hyun Heup’s rare ability is Gyu Jin, portrayed by Lee Da Hee. Gyu Jin is a charismatic and eccentric school teacher who becomes involved in the investigation after Hyun Heup transfers to the school where she teaches. Together, the trio navigates a reality where secrets are visible, boundaries are tested, and shame becomes public.

The series is directed and written by Ahn Jio Young, and boasts a runtime of 50 minutes per episode over six episodes. It will stream exclusively on Wavve starting July 2025. While the release format—weekly or all at once—has yet to be confirmed, fans are eagerly waiting for updates.

S Line’s creative risks and bold narrative were praised at the 8th Cannes International Series Festival, where it won the Best Music award in the feature-length competition category. Kkomabi, the original webtoon creator, is already well-regarded for A Killer Paradox and Pending Case, and their signature style of dark, thought-provoking storytelling clearly continues in this latest adaptation.

With its strong cast, daring concept, and international recognition, S Line is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated K-dramas of 2025.
