BTS’ Jin’s RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR encore sparks massive hotel price surge near Incheon venue
BTS’ Jin is making his long-awaited return to the stage — but his fans might have to pay a heavy price to see him. The singer’s RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR, announced to make its grand comeback with two encore concerts, has not only set the fandom abuzz but also sent hotel rates around Incheon Munhak Main Stadium skyrocketing.
According to the official announcement on October 2, Jin will perform two shows — one on October 31 at 7 PM KST and another on November 1 at 6:30 PM KST — at the massive Incheon Munhak Main Stadium in Michuhol-gu. The concerts will reportedly serve as the final leg of his solo tour, with both online and offline viewing options for global fans.
However, the sudden announcement and the expected flood of BTS ARMYs into Incheon have created a ripple effect in the local hospitality market. Fans and residents alike took to online communities to express frustration over what they describe as “unfair cancellations” and “predatory price hikes.”
One user shared their experience, writing, “My confirmed booking was suddenly canceled over the phone because the hotel said the site listed the wrong price.” They went on to reveal that the same room that cost 80,000 KRW (about $57 USD) during normal periods was suddenly relisted for 1,075,000 KRW (around $765 USD) — an increase of more than 1,200%.
With less than a month before the concert dates, fans are scrambling to find affordable accommodations near the venue, but prices continue to soar. Industry observers predict that the cost of nearby stays may rise even further as the event dates approach, with some hotels expected to sell out completely.
Adding to the uncertainty, Weverse’s official notice mentioned that the concert schedule could be shifted by a day due to a change in the stadium’s sports calendar. This has caused additional confusion among fans trying to finalize travel and lodging plans.
Still, the excitement surrounding Jin’s encore performances remains sky-high. The BTS member shared during a Weverse post that he only learned about the venue’s availability three weeks ago, making the event possible on short notice. Fans have since flooded social media with supportive messages, expressing how thrilled they are to see him perform live again after his military discharge.
While ticketing is expected to be fierce — both for in-person and online access — one thing’s clear: Jin’s name alone is powerful enough to move markets, from concert platforms to hotel listings.
