Rapper HoodyBaby is facing assault charges alongside Chris Brown in connection to the 2023 bottle-smashing incident that happened in London. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that HoodyBaby is scheduled to appear in Manchester’s Magistrate Court this Saturday.

Chris Brown also appeared in the same court on Friday, charged with one count of grievous bodily harm. On May 16, the judge decided that Brown must remain in police custody until the next hearing, which is set for June 13 at Southwark Crown Court. This comes at a tough time for Brown, as he plans to release his new album, Breezy Bowl XX, on June 8.

The case dates back to 2023 when Brown allegedly smashed a bottle on music producer Abe Diaw’s head during a night out at a London club. Diaw later sued Brown, claiming he was beaten until he lost consciousness and had to be hospitalized due to the serious injuries he sustained.

Brown’s lawyers told the media they are “pursuing all legal remedies to hold him accountable.” When Brown appeared in court, he was dressed casually in a black t-shirt and sweatpants, confirmed his personal details, and then was taken back into custody.

Meanwhile, if the legal situation is resolved in time, Brown is expected to go on tour in the coming months.
