A$AP Rocky recently opened up about how fatherhood has transformed him, especially in an interview with Vogue uploaded on April 15. The rapper, who shares two children—RZA and Riot—with his partner, Fenty Beauty founder Rihanna, reflected on how becoming a dad has influenced his life, including his fashion and lifestyle choices.
During the interview, A$AP reminisced about the memorable 2023 British Vogue cover that featured him, Rihanna, and their older son, RZA. He shared that fatherhood has given him what he calls his “dad swag bag,” adding, “I’m really on that. That’s what I do. I’m on that dad swag. I love it.” The rapper confessed that becoming a father has helped him step up in life, both in terms of his priorities and his actions. He mentioned that it has even influenced his decisions to skip going out to clubs or leave events early, doing “old people s*** just for the sake of it.”
Fatherhood, he said, has also made him embrace the role of “the tired dad,” joking that he acts like his back hurts even when it doesn’t. “I’m like, ‘Oh, my back hurt, let me sit down.’ Dad swag on full,” he quipped, adding, “They can’t f*** with me, man.”
Reflecting on the cover shoot itself, A$AP expressed how special it was to have RZA involved. He noted that it was RZA’s first photo shoot with them, and he could tell that his son was “delighted and thrilled” to be part of the experience.
