Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton recently took a much-needed breather from royal life by jetting off to the dreamy Caribbean island of Mustique. The tropical getaway is being described by insiders as something of a second honeymoon—especially meaningful after what’s been a rocky chapter in their relationship, marked by Kate’s ongoing health battle and swirling rumors about William’s fidelity.

According to RadarOnline, the royal couple stayed in serious luxury—reportedly splashing out on a $48,000-a-week villa. While there, they were spotted letting their hair down at some of Mustique’s most iconic spots, including the lively Basil’s Bar and the elegant Cotton House hotel. Locals and staff said the two looked relaxed, happy, and in sync. William, known for keeping things low-key, was seen sipping vodka cranberry cocktails and catching sports games in his favorite corner of the bar. Kate, meanwhile, was glowing—looking healthy, smiling often, and even doing a little local grocery shopping like a regular island visitor.

People who interacted with them shared that the Duke and Duchess were incredibly kind and respectful, treating everyone warmly without the usual royal fanfare. Despite their fame, they blended into the laid-back island vibe thanks in part to Mustique’s strict no-paparazzi policy—which meant they could move around freely without being swarmed by cameras.

Their trip coincided with the island’s famous Mustique Blues Festival, and it sounds like they fully embraced the spirit. One longtime waiter told the outlet that William and Kate danced until the early hours, enjoying the music and cocktails like any couple celebrating a new beginning.

Back home, Kate’s mother Carole Middleton held the fort, looking after their kids and ringing in her own milestone—her 70th birthday.

As for Kate’s health, she first shared her cancer diagnosis publicly in March 2024. It came as a surprise after doctors initially thought her January abdominal surgery was for a non-cancerous issue. But post-op testing revealed otherwise, and she began a course of preventive chemotherapy soon after.

Now, with this island retreat behind them, it looks like William and Kate are focusing on healing, reconnecting, and enjoying some well-earned downtime.
