According to RadarOnline, Park took legal steps on April 18 in Los Angeles, asking the court to grant her full physical custody and order Post Malone to pay child support. This is a shift from their earlier arrangement, where both sides had agreed privately to share custody equally after their split in late 2023.
In her legal filing, Park said she’s open to sharing legal custody—meaning both parents would have a say in big decisions—but wants full physical custody, meaning the child would live primarily with her. She also requested that the court arrange financial support and issue an order to collect payments directly from Malone without having to notify either party repeatedly.
Interestingly, just two days before Park filed in California, Post Malone submitted his own custody documents in Utah, where they previously lived together. A source told RadarOnline that Malone saw Park’s move to California as a strategic attempt to gain an advantage, since California courts tend to be more favorable in custody cases.
The insider said, “Post believed it was a tactical move on her part to get the upper hand because California courts are likely to be more sympathetic to her petition.” They added, “He never imagined things would escalate to this, but he’s not willing to simply give in to her demands.”
It’s important to note that their initial 50/50 custody agreement wasn’t filed officially in court—it was a private deal worked out between their lawyers. Now, Park is asking the court to make things official and intervene legally. She’s also seeking financial support from Malone, who reportedly has a net worth of around $50 million.
Despite all the legal drama, Malone’s main focus is reportedly on what’s best for their daughter, who will turn three on May 26. A source shared that Malone understands his hectic lifestyle—constant touring and public events—makes it hard for him to be a consistent presence in his daughter’s life right now. They said she’s just too young to travel with him on tour.
