South Korean gaming YouTuber Sutak has been hospitalized following a violent kidnapping and attack, according to local media and police reports. The 30-year-old content creator, known for his gameplay videos and over a million subscribers, is now awaiting surgery but is said to be in a stable condition.
His agency, Sandbox Network, confirmed that the person mentioned in the reports is indeed Sutak. They stated that he is currently receiving medical treatment and that the company is helping him with recovery and legal support.
According to the Incheon Yeonsu Police, two men in their 20s and 30s allegedly assaulted Sutak on the night of October 26 in an underground apartment parking lot. The attack reportedly stemmed from an unpaid debt dispute. After the assault, the suspects allegedly forced him into a car and drove him all the way to Geumsan County in South Chungcheong Province, where they attempted to kill him using a blunt weapon.
Thankfully, Sutak managed to survive the attack. He sustained serious facial injuries but his life is not in danger, police confirmed. Authorities added that Sutak had contacted police earlier, expressing fears for his safety. This early report helped investigators track down the suspects using vehicle records and CCTV footage. The two men were arrested around 2:30 a.m. on October 27.
Both suspects are now in custody on attempted murder and joint confinement charges. The Incheon District Court approved their arrest warrants, noting that the men posed a flight risk.
Reports suggest that Sutak told investigators the attackers actually owed him money, not the other way around, a twist that adds more complexity to the case.
Sutak’s last YouTube upload was in early October, featuring a playthrough of Little Nightmares 3. His absence since then had already raised concern among fans.
This disturbing case comes amid growing safety concerns for South Korean online creators. In recent months, other high-profile incidents involving streamers have drawn public attention, including the murder of a popular female streamer by a fan and the imprisonment of YouTuber Lee Jun-hee for extortion.
For now, fans across the gaming community are sending support and prayers for Sutak’s full recovery as investigations continue.
