Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Wednesday that Poland has received real offers of help from its European partners to strengthen its air defenses. His announcement came shortly after Polish forces shot down suspected Russian drones that had entered Polish airspace the same day.
Tusk posted on X that he had spoken with leaders from France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Ukraine, and NATO. During these conversations, he said Poland was not only assured of solidarity but was also given proposals for direct and practical support.
The move highlights how Poland’s security concerns are being taken seriously across Europe, especially with the ongoing war in Ukraine and the risk of conflict spilling over borders. Tusk did not go into detail about what kind of support was being offered, but his emphasis on “concrete” measures suggests that allies are preparing to step in with more than just words.
The announcement reflects growing cooperation among NATO and European partners as Poland remains one of the front-line countries facing potential threats from Russia.
