Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan has expressed his support for Aaron Taylor-Johnson potentially taking on the iconic role of 007 in future Bond films. Speaking on RTE Radio 1’s The Ray D’Arcy Show, Brosnan praised Taylor-Johnson’s talent and charisma, stating, “I think the man has the chops and the talent and the charisma to play Bond, very much so.” Brosnan, who starred alongside Taylor-Johnson in Shana Feste’s 2009 film The Greatest, referred to him as “the greatest” in the movie.
Brosnan, known for his portrayal of James Bond in four films, including GoldenEye and Die Another Day, handed over the role to Daniel Craig, who recently concluded his tenure as the suave spy with No Time To Die (2021).
Since Craig’s departure, speculation has been rife about who will be the next actor to step into the role of James Bond. While there have been rumors about Taylor-Johnson’s potential casting, Bond producers have remained tight-lipped on the matter.
The discussion surrounding the next Bond often sparks interest among fans and actors alike. Over the years, names like Idris Elba have been frequently mentioned, although Elba himself has ruled out the possibility of taking on the role due to the long-term commitment it entails.
Reflecting on the persistent rumors, Elba humorously remarked in a 2023 interview, “I think I’m the most famous Bond actor that never actually played the part. So, what can I say? I’ll take that.” Despite the speculation, the search for the next James Bond continues, keeping fans eagerly awaiting the official announcement from Bond producers.
