AI unicorn Perplexity has officially acquired Invisible, a startup known for developing scalable infrastructure solutions for AI agents. The news was confirmed on Tuesday by Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas, who shared the update on X. He explained that Invisible’s team, which includes alumni from Uber and Cloud Kitchens, will now contribute to expanding the reach and reliability of Perplexity’s AI-native browser, Comet, for both consumer and enterprise use.
Invisible focuses on building core infrastructure for the AI-native era. It specialises in combining autonomous agents with personalised data to create tools that can drive meaningful transformation across different industries. The company offers two main products: A3, an automation API designed for enterprise-level AI agent integration, and Taka, which it describes as the world’s first AI personal CFO, aimed at managing individual finances using artificial intelligence.
Following the acquisition, Invisible posted a statement on its official website confirming the move. It emphasised how closely aligned its mission is with Perplexity’s vision, particularly through Comet, which aims to reinvent the traditional browsing experience. The goal of Comet is to go beyond simple search by allowing users to research topics, compare products, make purchases, book appointments, and receive explanations using a natural, conversational interface powered by AI.
While neither company disclosed the financial details of the deal, the acquisition marks a strategic move for Perplexity as it aims to strengthen its foundation in the competitive AI space. With Invisible’s expertise now integrated into Perplexity’s operations, the company is expected to accelerate the development of advanced agent-based systems that function at scale and serve real-world needs across both personal and professional domains.
