Percy Jackson has been adapted many times. We have the books, the movies, and now the Disney+ show that began in 2023. The series is returning with season 2 soon. Disney changed a few things in the show, and most fans can accept that. But there is one thing they should never have removed from Percy. It was one of his strongest traits. And if the writers want season 2 to feel complete, they need to bring it back.
In the original books, Percy’s inner monologue was a huge part of the story. Greek mythology can feel confusing for many readers. So Percy’s thoughts helped explain what was going on. They made complicated scenes easier to follow. His inner voice also added humor and emotion. It made the world of gods and monsters feel friendly, clear, and fun.
But Disney took away this whole layer from the show. Without Percy’s inner voice, the storytelling felt a little empty. Characters like Grover never got the depth fans expected. And even people who never read the books could sense that something was missing. Percy’s thoughts could have pulled the audience deeper into the story and made the show feel more connected and personal.
Season 2 is based on The Sea of Monsters. Many fans believe this book is the weakest in the series. Disney might improve it with creative changes, but people might still judge the season harshly. Adding Percy’s inner monologue again would help a lot. It would make fans feel listened to. It would also smooth out the story and help bring life to the characters in a way season 1 struggled with.
This simple change can uplift the entire season. It can make the story richer, clearer, and more emotional. Now all we can do is wait and see if Disney learns from season 1 and gives Percy Jackson back the voice inside his head that fans love so much.
