Spring of Youth wrapped up on July 2 with an emotionally satisfying finale, bringing closure to the characters’ tangled relationships and painful histories. Seo Tae Yang, played by Lee Seung Hyub, played a pivotal role in protecting Sa Gye when he discovered that his own father had been involved in the tragic death of Kim Bom’s mother. After overhearing a conversation between his father and the agency CEO, Tae Yang realized that danger might be looming. Just before a live performance involving the TWO SAGYE band, he checked the stage for possible hazards and found a life-threatening fault. In a heroic act, he pushed Sa Gye out of harm’s way, but both ended up collapsing and were taken to the hospital.
The drama took a heavy turn when Tae Yang, overwhelmed with guilt over his father’s past actions, attempted to end his life. This moment of crisis pushed his father to finally confess and take responsibility for what he had done, leading to legal consequences. Though Park Bom received the justice she longed for, she struggled with the emotional weight of learning that Sa Gye had hidden the truth from her. Needing time and distance, she left the country to heal.
Despite the time apart, the story ended on a hopeful note. Two years later, Kim Bom returned to South Korea and reconciled with Sa Gye. Their reunion was marked by a heartfelt embrace and kiss, signaling that their love had endured. Meanwhile, Tae Yang overcame his past jealousy and returned to the stage with the TWO SAGYE band, performing again on campus. The subplot also wrapped sweetly, with Kong Jin Gu and Bom’s cousin Bae Gyu Ri becoming a couple. With all conflicts resolved and the main characters finding peace and love, the series came to a natural close, making a second season highly unlikely.
