Actor Park Hae Soo may soon be reuniting with acclaimed actress Jeon Do Yeon in a drama that’s already stirring buzz. According to reports on July 10, Park is in talks to join the upcoming series The Great Oksuk, which is based on a popular webtoon created by the team behind Mask Girl. While nothing has been officially confirmed by the actors or production team yet, the possibility has sparked excitement—especially among fans who saw their dynamic on stage last year.
The Great Oksuk is shaping up to be a dark comedy filled with mystery and psychological tension. The story revolves around Bang Ok Suk, a woman obsessed with maintaining the perfect view of the Han River from her apartment. Her fixation leads her down a dangerous path when she gets involved in an unexpected crime—one that ends with her disposing of a body in the very river she’s trying to protect. The show promises a mix of satire, urban paranoia, and moral unraveling, staying true to the webtoon’s edgy and offbeat tone.
Park Hae Soo is reportedly being eyed for the role of Yoon Tae Woong, the head of an apartment reconstruction committee. His character would frequently butt heads with Ok Suk, creating a tense and possibly volatile relationship that forms a core part of the series. Their interactions are expected to range from confrontational to complex—possibly with shades of romantic or emotional entanglement.
Although actress Yum Jung Ah was initially rumored to play Bang Ok Suk, it appears Jeon Do Yeon has now taken over the role. This would mark her return to a drama role that is both intense and layered—something she’s known for pulling off with depth.
This wouldn’t be the first time Park and Jeon work together. The two previously shared the stage in The Cherry Orchard, which wrapped in June 2024. Their chemistry in the theatrical production received strong praise, leaving audiences hoping to see them collaborate again—this time on screen. If the casting goes through, The Great Oksuk would mark their first television drama together and a highly anticipated follow-up to their stage success.
