Pad Thai is a beloved Thai noodle dish known for its bold flavors and vibrant colors. This recipe features stir-fried noodles, tangy tamarind sauce, crunchy peanuts, and fresh herbs, creating a delicious and satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
- 8 oz rice noodles
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup cooked shrimp, chicken, or tofu
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- 1/4 cup chopped peanuts
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Lime wedges for serving
- Pad Thai sauce: tamarind paste, fish sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, chili flakes
Instructions:
- Cook the rice noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a wok or large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Push the garlic to one side of the wok and pour the beaten eggs into the empty space. Scramble the eggs until cooked through.
- Add cooked shrimp, chicken, or tofu to the wok, along with cooked rice noodles and bean sprouts.
- Pour the Pad Thai sauce over the noodles and toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
