One Piece has officially added another historic achievement to its already unmatched legacy. According to newly released Netflix viewership data, the long-running anime series emerged as the most-watched anime on the platform in 2025, outperforming global giants like Naruto and Demon Slayer.
The numbers were revealed as part of Netflix’s “What We Watched: First Half & Second Half of 2025” report, which tracks total hours viewed across the year. The results offer a rare, transparent look into anime performance on the world’s largest streaming service, and One Piece dominated the competition.
Netflix viewers collectively watched One Piece for a staggering 643 million hours in 2025. That figure places it firmly at the top of the anime rankings, with no other series managing to close the gap.
Naruto followed closely behind with 626 million hours watched, while Demon Slayer secured third place at 598 million hours. While both franchises remain massively popular worldwide, they were unable to match the sustained engagement generated by One Piece.
What makes One Piece’s victory particularly impressive is the fact that Netflix does not host the anime’s complete library. Several major arcs are missing from the platform, forcing many fans to rely on other services, or alternative means to keep up with the story. Despite this limitation, the series still managed to outpace competitors with more complete and accessible catalogs.
Adding to the irony, One Piece is also widely regarded as the most pirated anime in the world. A significant portion of its global audience continues to consume the series through unofficial platforms, which means Netflix’s numbers only represent a fraction of its true reach. Even so, the anime’s legal streaming performance remains unmatched.
Industry analysts point to several reasons for this continued dominance. The ongoing Egghead arc, renewed interest from younger audiences, and Netflix’s growing investment in One Piece, including its live-action adaptation, have helped keep the franchise culturally relevant across generations.
The data further reinforces One Piece’s rare position as a series that thrives simultaneously in manga sales, anime viewership, and mainstream pop culture. Already the best-selling manga of all time, the franchise shows no signs of slowing down.
If Netflix were to eventually acquire the complete One Piece anime catalog, analysts believe the gap between it and other anime titles would widen even further. Until then, One Piece’s 2025 performance stands as yet another reminder that, even after decades, the Straw Hat Pirates remain untouchable.
