The live-action adaptation of One Piece has become one of the most highly anticipated series on a global scale for all OTT platforms, with the Straw Hat crew of pirates led by the unbreakable (indomitable) Monkey D. Luffy providing an exciting adventure. Fans are excited about Season 3 of One Piece – filled with intense battles in the desert, political motivations and alliances, and epic battles with Baroque Works, all following the events leading to the Grand Line in Season 2, which premiered in March 2026. All the while continuing to be true to the original manga by Eiichiro Oda.

One Piece Season 3: Release Date Speculation

As there is no established Premier Date for Season 3 of Netflix’s One Piece, it cannot be determined when Season 3 will air, but Netflix has said that it started filming Seasons 1 and 2 in Cape Town, South Africa, in November 2025 and will complete filming by June 2026 for a duration of 7 months.

Based on past releases, Season 1 of One Piece was released in 2023, and Season 2 was released on March 10, 2026, while filming of Season 2 was completed from mid-2024 to late-2024 with a post-production period thereafter.

That being said, if everything goes according to schedule, Season 3 is speculated to release in mid-to-late 2027, likely between June and September. This allows sufficient time for post-production editing, visual effects (which will be significant for the war/action, etc.), and marketing, as well as any other delays that may happen between filming and releasing a season.

At this time, no trailers have been released, but teaser(s) are likely to be released sometime between late 2026 and early 2027.

One Piece Season 3: Plot Details

The third season will cover all the events that take place in the Alabasta Arc (also known as The Alabasta Saga) by Eiichiro Oda in his manga. This marks a conclusion to the first set of adventures in the Grand Line.

In the second season, we were introduced to all the characters and elements that would appear in this saga, such as Princess Vivi, Baroque Works, and Sir Crocodile’s schemes, before making our way toward Alabasta—the desert kingdom that is part of the Alabasta Arc.

In the third season, the Straw Hat Pirates will continue to help Princess Vivi prevent Sir Crocodile’s coup d’état against the kingdom of Alabasta, using Baroque Works, which is made up of many criminal organizations, as their primary source to do so.

Expect to see tons of action (including major battles against Baroque Works), tons of emotional content (Princess Vivi’s story), and tons of important developments (Luffy vs. Crocodile).

There will be some giant set pieces (the rebellion in the capital, the underground battles, and the climactic battle in the desert) during the season that will lead to the conclusion of the Alabasta Saga and pave the way for future arcs (i.e., Jaya/Skypiea hopefully in season four).

Oda has remained heavily involved in creating this season and will serve as an executive producer to maintain fidelity to the source material while adapting to live-action.

If you are an avid fan, keep checking Netflix’s Tudum website or look for official announcements for trailers, episode count (most likely still eight episodes), and any additional casting—filming is currently underway, so there will be plenty of updates to come!
