Strands is a new daily puzzle from The New York Times that puts a clever twist on the traditional word search. You’ll need sharp observation skills to crack these tricky puzzles!
Like other NYT puzzles such as Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can be challenging. If you’re stuck on today’s Strands puzzle, don’t worry — a little help never hurts. We’ve got the answers for today’s puzzle below.
How to Play NYT Strands
The goal of Strands is to find “theme words” hidden within a grid of letters. You can drag or tap letters to form words, then double-tap the final letter to confirm. When you find a correct theme word, the letters will turn blue and become unselectable.
Here’s the twist: Even if you discover non-theme words, it’s helpful! For every three non-theme words you find (with at least four letters), you earn a hint — a few letters from one of the theme words will be revealed, and you’ll just need to unscramble them.
Remember, every letter on the grid is part of a theme word, and there’s no overlap — each letter is used only once. Also, keep an eye out for the “spangram,” a special word that runs from one side of the board to the opposite side and ties into the puzzle’s theme. It will be highlighted in yellow when you find it.
Your goal is to complete the puzzle as quickly as possible without relying on too many hints!
