Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. In this game, you need to categorize a set of 16 words into four hidden groups by figuring out the relationships between them. Each day at midnight, a new puzzle is released with varying difficulty levels. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare your scores with friends.

Some puzzles are more challenging than others. If you find yourself stuck on today’s Connections puzzle, we have tips and hints to help you out. And if you still can’t solve it, we’ll provide the answers at the end.

How to Play NYT Connections

In Connections, you’re presented with a grid of 16 words. Your goal is to sort these words into four groups of four by identifying the connections that link them. These connections might include themes like video game franchises, book series, shades of red, chain restaurants, and more.

There are often words that could fit multiple themes, but there’s only one correct solution. You can shuffle and rearrange the words to help spot the connections.

Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest to identify, followed by green, blue, and purple.

To play, select four words and hit Submit. If you’re correct, those words will be removed from the grid, and the theme connecting them will be revealed. If you’re wrong, it counts as a mistake. You can make up to four mistakes before the game ends.
