Connections is the exciting new puzzle game from the New York Times that challenges you to group 16 words into four secret categories. Your mission is to figure out how these words are related to each other. The game refreshes every night at midnight, presenting a new puzzle with varying difficulty levels. Just like in Wordle, you can keep track of your winning streak and see how you stack up against friends.
How to Play Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words. Your goal is to sort these words into four groups of four by identifying their connections. These connections could be anything from titles of video game franchises and book series to shades of red or names of popular chain restaurants.
Sometimes, you might come across words that could fit into multiple categories, but remember, there’s only one correct answer for each group. You can shuffle the words around in the grid to help spot potential connections more easily.
Each group is color-coded by difficulty, with yellow being the easiest and purple being the hardest. After picking four words, hit Submit. If you’re correct, those words will disappear, and you’ll see the theme that ties them together. However, if you guess incorrectly, it counts as a mistake, and you only have four mistakes to play with before the game ends.
