Connections is a fresh and exciting puzzle game from the New York Times that challenges players to categorize 16 words into four hidden groups. How to Play NYT Connections

In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words. Your job is to sort these words into four groups of four based on how they’re related. These connections could be anything from video game franchises to types of bedding or even government departments.

Some words may seem like they belong to multiple groups, but there’s only one correct solution. You can shuffle the grid and rearrange words to get a better sense of the connections. The groups are color-coded, with yellow being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple.

Once you’ve spotted a group, select four words and click Submit. If you’re right, those words are removed from the grid, and the theme is revealed. If not, it counts as a mistake — and you only get four tries before the game ends.
