Connections is the latest puzzle game from the New York Times. The game challenges you to categorize a set of 16 words into four hidden groups by determining the relationships between the words. Each night at midnight, a new puzzle is released with varying levels of difficulty. Similar to Wordle, you can track your winning streak and compare scores with friends.
Some puzzles are more difficult than others. If you’re having trouble solving today’s Connections puzzle, check out our tips and hints below. And if you still can’t solve it, we’ll provide today’s answers at the very end.
How to Play Connections
In Connections, you’re presented with a grid of 16 words. Your goal is to organize these words into four groups of four by identifying the connections between them. These connections might be categories such as video game franchises, book series sequels, shades of red, names of chain restaurants, and so on.
Gameplay Tips:
- Words may seem to fit multiple themes, but only one solution is correct.
- You can shuffle the words in the grid to see potential connections more clearly.
- Each group is color-coded by difficulty: yellow (easiest), green, blue, and purple (hardest).
- Select four words and press Submit. Correct guesses remove the words from the grid and reveal the connecting theme. Incorrect guesses count as mistakes, and you’re allowed up to four mistakes before the game ends.
