How to Play NYT Connections
In Connections, you’ll see a grid of 16 words. Your job is to group them into four sets of four based on how they’re related. These connections could be anything from video game franchises to shades of color, or even chain restaurant names. The tricky part? Some words might seem like they fit into multiple categories, but there’s only one correct grouping.
You can shuffle the grid to get a new perspective on how the words relate. Each group is color-coded, with the yellow group being the easiest, followed by green, blue, and then purple, which is the hardest.
To play, pick four words that you think are related, then hit “Submit.” If you’re correct, those words will disappear, and the connection between them will be revealed. Make a mistake, and it counts against your limit — you only get four mistakes before the game ends.
