The son of North Dakota Republican Senator Kevin Cramer is facing a new charge of homicide while fleeing a peace officer after the authorities have claimed that he was involved in a car chase that ended in a death of sheriff’s deputy, as per the court records.

In connection to the December 6 incident, Ian Cramer was charged with manslaughter, wherein he was accused of fleeing from law enforcement officer and crashing into an unoccupied patrol vehicle that then struck and killed a deputy who was standing behind the car, according to North Dakota Highway Patrol.

During the chase, Cramer crashed into an unoccupied Mercer County Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle that was parked on the side of the road, as per the release.
