Rumours surrounding Nintendo’s highly anticipated Switch 2 console have intensified following alleged pictures and specs leaked on a Discord server. According to a user on the Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit, a Chinese individual shared these images, reportedly obtained from someone under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), possibly a factory worker.
If these images are legitimate, they confirm much of the speculation surrounding the new console, suggesting the Nintendo Switch 2 will feature a larger design and improved hardware.
The images reportedly showcase a bigger screen compared to the original Switch, as well as magnetic side rails for the new Joy-Con controllers. This is consistent with earlier rumours that have been circulating for months. Alongside the pictures, additional technical specifications for the Nintendo Switch 2 have also surfaced.
The most notable details include 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM operating at 7500 MT/s and 256 GB of flash memory, which would significantly improve performance over the previous model. While the specifics regarding the system’s SoC (System on Chip) remain unclear, these enhancements indicate a potential leap in the console’s overall capability.
The leak has sparked considerable excitement and speculation among fans, though the information should be approached cautiously. Given the anonymous nature of the source and the alignment with previous leaks, it’s wise to take this news with a grain of salt.
However, with the frequency of these leaks and the consistent nature of the rumoured specs, it seems likely that Nintendo could soon officially reveal their next-generation console. Until then, fans eagerly await more concrete information about what could be the most significant update to the Nintendo Switch lineup since its launch.
