As Sagittarius season approaches, Nicki Minaj took to social media to celebrate her fellow Sagittarius, pop icon Taylor Swift. In a playful Instagram Story posted on Tuesday, October 22, Minaj referred to Swift as her “Sag Queen” while sharing a photo of Swift dancing in a glittering dress during her Miami performance of The Eras Tour.
Nicki Minaj’s post for Taylor Swift:
Minaj, who will celebrate her 42nd birthday on December 8, and Swift, turning 35 on December 13, are both Sagittarians, and the “Super Bass” rapper didn’t miss the chance to celebrate their shared zodiac sign. “Sag Queen,” Minaj wrote alongside the image of Swift, who is currently wrapping up the U.S. leg of her record-breaking tour with a three-night run at Miami Gardens’ Hard Rock Stadium.
This is not the first time Minaj has affectionately referred to Swift as her “Sag Queen.” In May, the rapper praised Swift’s commercial success on social media, commenting on her chart dominance. “Imagine doing +27 on the HOT 100 when QUEEN SAG TAYLOR IS SELLING OVER 2 million 1st week,” Minaj tweeted. “Only TWO songs were able to have a PLUS when the QUEEN SAG TAYLOR dropped.”
The camaraderie between the two powerhouse performers has spanned years. During the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, while accepting an award on stage, Swift famously gave a shout-out to Minaj in the audience, calling her “my favorite Sagittarius.” Their mutual admiration continued to blossom, and in 2015, the two stars shared the stage at the MTV VMAs, performing a medley of their hits. Swift championed Minaj’s anthem “Super Bass” early in her career, and the duo delivered an electrifying mash-up of Minaj’s “Trini Dem Girls” and “The Night Is Still Young” with Swift’s “Bad Blood.”
As Swift continues her celebrated Eras Tour, the Grammy-winning singer is preparing for her highly anticipated performances in New Orleans at the Caesars Superdome from October 25 to October 27. Reflecting on the Miami leg of her tour, Swift shared her excitement on Instagram, writing, “The Eras Tour is BACK… The mass quantities of joyful people genuinely living in the moment and seeming truly carefree for 3.5 hours.”
