Joseph Radhik, the celebrity photographer who captured Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s stunning 2018 wedding in Jodhpur, recently shared some hilarious behind-the-scenes stories from the celebration. One of the funniest revelations was his initial cluelessness about Nick’s global stardom.
Radhik admitted that he had no idea about Nick Jonas’s status as a pop superstar when he first met him. He confessed that, at the time, his knowledge of Nick was primarily based on his 2017 role in Jumanji, and he had no idea about his music career with the Jonas Brothers or his solo projects. The photographer explained that his limited exposure to Disney programming during his childhood contributed to this gap in knowledge, saying, “I grew up in the wrong era, so I was not part of the Disney childhood. I didn’t watch much TV, and whatever little I watched was Doordarshan.”
However, Radhik was certainly aware of Priyanka Chopra’s incredible career in Bollywood, admitting that he was a huge fan of hers. Despite not recognizing Nick as a pop star, he was taken aback by the Jonas family’s performance during the mehendi ceremony, where they took the mic and began singing. Radhik was so impressed by their vocal talents that he exclaimed out loud, “Man, these guys can sing.”
The moment became even more amusing when Priyanka, apparently thinking Radhik was joking, didn’t realize he was serious. It took her sister to explain that the Jonas family were actual professional singers, leaving Radhik in a state of surprised realization.
In his interview on the All About Eve podcast, Radhik also shared how warm and lively the entire Jonas family was, reflecting fondly on their energy and love during the wedding festivities. He noted how Nick would always look for him during the various grand ceremonies, a testament to the couple’s considerate nature.
