The Seoul High Court has officially rejected NewJeans’ appeal to work outside of their agency, ADOR. This means the group cannot promote, release music, or do advertisements under their own brand, NJZ, without ADOR’s permission.

Earlier, the Seoul Central District Court had already ruled in favor of ADOR. That ruling stopped NewJeans from doing any solo or group work outside the agency. The group had objected, but the objection was dismissed. Now, the higher court has confirmed the same decision.

This situation shows that NewJeans is still legally tied to ADOR. They can’t act independently for now. The group’s lawyers said the trust between the members and ADOR is completely broken. They also said there’s no chance of fixing things.

The next court hearing will take place on July 24, 2025. Until then, the members of NewJeans cannot promote under their new name, NJZ.

Fans are disappointed, and many are hoping for a solution soon. This case is also drawing attention because it could affect how other K-pop agencies handle contracts with their artists in the future.
