The New York Mets have been very busy reshaping their team with some of the biggest names in baseball. Even before their latest move they had already traded for star second baseman Marcus Semien and signed veteran hitter Jorge Polanco. On Friday they added another huge piece to the puzzle by signing Bo Bichette. While having so many star players might seem confusing the team has a clear plan for where everyone will play.

Francisco Lindor will stay at his usual spot as the starting shortstop because he is one of the best in the world at that position. Marcus Semien who won awards for his defense will take over second base to form a very strong middle infield. Jorge Polanco is expected to move to first base to replace Pete Alonso who left the team earlier this winter. This gives the Mets a group of experienced veterans who can all hit for power and average.

The biggest change will be for Bo Bichette who is expected to play third base for the first time in his career. Although he has always been a shortstop experts believe he has the talent to learn the new position quickly. By moving him to the corner the Mets can keep all their best hitters in the lineup at the same time. This new look infield is now one of the most expensive and talented groups in all of Major League Baseball.

While fans are excited about these stars some of the younger players on the team might be feeling left out. High potential prospects like Mark Vientos and Brett Baty may no longer have a clear path to playing every day. Because there are no spots left open some people believe the Mets might trade these young players to get more pitching help. For now the team is focused on winning as many games as possible with their new star studded roster.
