A report came out saying Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving might not return any time soon because of something happening off the field. Now a local Bucs reporter has shared a bit more context.
Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk said Irving was dealing with an issue that wasn’t related to an injury. Florio also said he heard something while in Philadelphia that made him believe Irving would be out for a while. He didn’t share the details on air. He said it was private information and probably not something that should be made public. But he still suggested Irving would not be back soon. He also said the situation involved more than what the official injury report shows.
After that story spread, Rick Stroud from The Tampa Bay Times added a new update. He wrote that people close to Irving said the running back needed extra support. This happened after he got injured and found himself away from his team for the first time in his career. Stroud did not give any update on when Irving might return.
Irving has been out since Week five with shoulder and foot injuries. He came back to practice last week. He has practiced again this week, but only in a limited role.
Earlier in the week, Bucs legend Ronde Barber said Irving will not play on Sunday. So it’s safe to say he is not expected back for Week twelve.
