Netflix just made a big splash for fans by renewing eight of its most popular shows, covering everything from drama to reality TV. The announcement came during their Wednesday upfront event, showing that Netflix wants to stick with the hits that viewers really connect with and keep those stories going strong.
Leading the pack is Bridgerton, which has become a worldwide sensation. Netflix isn’t just renewing it for one more season but for two—seasons five and six are officially happening. This confirms that the romantic Regency drama from Shondaland is a major part of Netflix’s long-term lineup.
Another exciting renewal is the political thriller The Diplomat, which will get a fourth season even before the third one has aired. Keri Russell is coming back to lead the show, joined by heavy hitters like Bradley Whitford and Allison Janney, so fans already have plenty to look forward to.
Tina Fey’s dramedy The Four Seasons is coming back for season two. The show, inspired by the 1981 movie, follows longtime friends dealing with their personal ups and downs during a vacation getaway. Fey and her co-creators joked about the show’s vibe—think cozy sweaters, ocean views, and hot tub arguments.
Other fan favorites also got the green light. Forever, Mara Brock Akil’s adaptation of Judy Blume’s novel about teenage love, will return. The heartfelt docuseries Love on the Spectrum is heading into its fourth season, continuing to explore the dating experiences of autistic adults with honesty and warmth. Million Dollar Secret, a psychological competition full of deception, will have a second season, and teen drama My Life with the Walter Boys is coming back for its third season, promising even more twists.
Lastly, Survival of the Thickest, Michelle Buteau’s comedy about embracing life and self-confidence, will have a third and final season. While it’s sad to see it wrap up, this gives the show a chance to end on a high note.
With so many of these series already in production, fans won’t have to wait too long to dive back into the characters and stories they love. This lineup shows Netflix is focused on keeping its loyal viewers happy by delivering more of the shows they’re passionate about.
