Netflix has released exciting new updates about the highly anticipated Wednesday Season 2, starring Jenna Ortega. Along with sharing its first official poster, the show has also announced that the first teaser will drop on Wednesday, April 23, across platforms.
The poster features Ortega in a chair, restrained by a rope, with Thing perched on her left shoulder. Her mascara is smudged, yet she maintains her signature stoic expression. The caption reads, “The suffering ends. The chaos begins.” Fans are eagerly awaiting the new season after Wednesday dominated streaming charts upon its release in November 2022. Although the show was first teased by Netflix in September 2024, updates have been scarce, but with this new poster, it’s clear that a 2025 release is on the horizon.
Steve Buscemi, who joined the cast for Season 2, recently spoke about working with Ortega, praising her wit and grounded personality. He described her as “a wonderful actress, a wonderful scene partner” and shared that he thoroughly enjoyed working with her. While he couldn’t give away many details about the upcoming season, he promised that fans wouldn’t be disappointed.
Netflix also made a fun cast announcement in May 2024, revealing that Buscemi will play a character named Barry Dort in Chapter 1, titled Here We Woe Again. Other returning cast members include Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Moosa Mostafa, Victor Dorobantu, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo. New faces include Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor.
Jenna Ortega, who plays the titular character, also shared her excitement for the new season, particularly about some of her favorite scenes, especially in the last episode. She told E! News, “Some of the footage that we shot in Wednesday season 2, especially in the last episode, is some of my favorite footage from the show,” adding, “Which is very exciting for me.”
Fans can expect more chaos and thrilling moments in Wednesday Season 2 when it arrives on Netflix.
