Tottenham Hotspur are going all-in to sign Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United, making him one of their top transfer targets this summer. The North London club has already made two bids, with the second offer reaching £55 million (around $64 million). However, West Ham has turned them down, holding out for a fee closer to £65 million ($88 million), despite the player’s official release clause being £84 million ($114 million).

Even though West Ham are open to slightly lower offers, mainly to free up funds for their own summer signings after missing out on European football, they’re still playing hardball.

Tottenham aren’t the only club watching Kudus. Big names like Chelsea and Newcastle United have also shown interest. But so far, Spurs have been the most aggressive, with new manager Thomas Frank (who joined from Brentford) making it clear he wants Kudus in his squad.

Spurs are already reshaping their team. They’ve signed Luka Vuskovic, made permanent deals for Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel, and seen players like Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Fraser Forster, and Sergio Reguilon leave.

The biggest breakthrough? According to Fabrizio Romano, a trusted football transfer insider, Mohammed Kudus himself wants to join Tottenham.

“Understand Mohammed Kudus is not talking to any other club at this stage: he wants Tottenham,” Romano posted on X. “Kudus already said yes to the Spurs project, and club-to-club talks with West Ham will continue soon.”

Romano added that Tottenham are planning another bid in the coming days, and manager Thomas Frank has given the green light for the move. Kudus is viewed as a “crucial target” for the Spurs rebuild, and with the player fully on board, it’s now just a matter of the two clubs agreeing on a fee.

So while nothing is official yet, it looks like Kudus in a Tottenham shirt is getting closer by the day.
