She said, “I ended up with a person who means a lot to me and treats me really well and respects me. I had to learn that the hard way because my mommy taught me the wrong way, and then I had to learn the right way by myself.”
For context, Miley and Liam first sparked dating rumors in 2009 after being seen kissing at an airport. They had an on-and-off relationship, got engaged in 2012, called it off the following year, reconciled in 2016, and finally married in 2018. Just seven months later, they announced their separation, filed for divorce in 2019, and finalized it in 2020. Miley later revealed in a Joe Rogan interview that it wasn’t the breakup itself that hurt her most, but the public scrutiny.
