Robert Pattinson’s much-talked-about film Mickey 17 has officially landed on digital platforms, nearly five months after it first hit theaters. Directed by Oscar-winning South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon Ho, the movie grabbed attention for its unusual mix of dark humor, sci-fi world-building, and of course, for featuring the Twilight and Batman star in the lead role.

The film can now be streamed on Prime Video with a regular subscription, or rented at a smaller one-time fee. For Indian audiences, it’s available on JioHotstar with a subscription pack, and it can also be watched on OTT Play with a premium plan.

What’s Mickey 17 About?

The story follows Robert Pattinson as Mickey Barnes, a man who’s fed up with his life on Earth and signs up for a dangerous space mission. He becomes what’s called an “expendable” on a colony based on the frozen world of Niflheim. Thanks to advanced science, every time Mickey dies, his body regenerates—complete with most of his memories intact. This cycle of death and rebirth puts him at the center of moral and survival dilemmas as humanity tries to build a future on a hostile planet.

The official synopsis sums it up like this: “A disposable employee is sent on a human expedition to colonize the ice world Niflheim. After one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of his memories intact.”

The Star-Studded Cast and Crew

Alongside Pattinson, the movie features a strong ensemble including Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Patsy Ferran, Cameron Britton, Daniel Henshall, Stephen Park, Anamaria Vartolomei, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo. Bong Joon Ho not only directed the movie but also wrote the screenplay, adapting it from Edward Ashton’s novel of the same name. His collaboration with Pattinson drew major buzz, especially since Bong was celebrated worldwide for his Oscar-winning hit Parasite.
