Rapper and singer Colson Baker, professionally known as Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), recently opened up about his personal struggles, including his relationship with actress Megan Fox, in connection with his latest album, Lost Americana. The project offers an intimate look into his emotional battles, time in rehab, and the complexities of his romance with Fox.

MGK revealed in a candid interview on The New York Times Popcast that he spent the entirety of December 2024, as well as late November, in a rehab facility. He reflected on how these experiences influenced his music, saying, “I say it on the first track of Lost Americana, where I said, ‘All the pages are blank until my life goes to shit. I know I do that on purpose just to write again.’” He emphasized the authenticity of the album, adding, “There is no beguiling on this album. This album is not a character,” highlighting the vulnerability behind his lyrics.

Addressing the rumors about his split from Megan Fox, which circulated while she was pregnant with their daughter Saga, now four months old, MGK clarified the misinformation. He explained, “Ironically, neither me or Megan have said anything. To this day, there could have been zero drama and you would never know, because none of us have said one thing. It’s all claims and things that have happened out of our control.” He noted that much of the speculation stemmed from his rehab stay and media coverage rather than actual events.

Lost Americana, released on August 8, 2025, reflects MGK’s personal life, emotional lows, and hopes for the future. The album trailer, narrated by Bob Dylan, emphasizes its rawness, while tracks like Treading Water directly reference his rehab experience: “I wrote this in Room Three, spending Christmas in rehabilitation / I got no phone, just a cell that I’m trapped in while my home’s vacant.” The song also touches on his relationship with Megan Fox and his commitment to their daughter: “This’ll be the last time you hear me say sorry / That’ll be the last tear you waste on me crying / I broke this home, but I’ll change for our daughter, so she’s not alone.” MGK also has a daughter, Casie, from a previous relationship, while Megan has three sons from a past marriage.
