Meta has introduced a new tool called Meta AI Translations for creators on Facebook and Instagram. The feature will automatically translate and dub your Reels so people across the world can watch them in their own language.
Creators can turn it on from the option “Translate your voice with Meta AI” before posting. The tool does more than just add a voiceover. It copies your tone, matches your lip movement, and makes the dubbing feel natural instead of robotic. You can also check the AI-generated version, make edits, and only then share it.
Right now, the tool only works between English and Spanish. Meta has said that more languages will be added in the future. To use this feature, you must either have a public Instagram account or at least one thousand followers on Facebook.
Reels that use translations will carry a clear “Meta AI translation” label so viewers know it has been dubbed by AI. Creators will also get new insights showing how their content is performing in different languages.
The feature is rolling out in all regions where Meta AI is active. However, it will not be available in the European Union, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Brazil, Australia, Nigeria, Turkey, South Africa, Texas, and Illinois.
